Misinterpretation of scripture
I) Jesus was a human being while on earth.
I disagree with this contention. Some find it difficult to harmonize the idea that Jesus was both human and divine. Jesus’ first miracle at the wedding in Canaa, marks the beginning of His public ministry and reveals His divine authority. This event reveals His divine status and glory
Following His birth in Bethlehem, He grew in the natural course of human beings, both physically, mentally, and spiritually (ref Luke 2:52). In all aspects He was a human being, yet we also see moments when His divinity flashed through, such as on the Mount of Transfiguration 👇
Though man today expresses doubts and misgivings, His disciples had absolutely no doubts about this. John says👇
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” [John 1:14; KJV]
Matthew tells us that Jesus was called “Immanuel,” just as was prophesied in the scripture (ref Isaiah 7:14) 👇
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” [Matthew 1:23; KJV]
Jesus is God in the flesh which is distinctly different from an ordinary humdrum human being. The Bible is full of statements that emphasize the divinity AND the humanity of Our Lord.
II) “As Paul said. That is God’s Holy Spirit (the Holy Spirit is NOT a god) is The Almighty’s active force he uses to accomplish his will. You will never find in the Bible that the “Holy Spirit” is a god, absolutely not, absolutely. Writ large.”
a) My Response: Do Not Be So Sure. The Holy Spirit Is God. The Bible says so. Saying otherwise just means you have yet to read the Bible as thoroughly as you should have before making such an absolute statement.
In the verse above, the act of lying was done against the Holy Spirit but the apostle says that the crime has been committed against God. Peter thus reveals that the Holy Spirit is God. Lying to the Holy Spirit is lying to God.
His inclusion in key passages of scripture makes it clear that He is the third Person of the Holy Trinity (ref Matthew 28:19).
Jesus was clear that to be “born again,” to become a Christian, one must be born “of the Spirit”
“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” [John 3:5; KJV]
The bodies of those in Christ are described as temples of God because the Holy Spirit is in us Not the other way around.
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” [1 Corinthians 6:19; KJV]
b) The 2nd line of the comment refers — “… The Almighty’s active force…. “. The Holy Spirit is a person Not a force.
The Holy Spirit is the third person in the trinity This is something that is central to mainstream Christianity which teaches that the Holy Spirit has distinct roles but shares the same divine essence as the other two Persons of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is explicitly referred to as He in the Gospel by Our Lord Himself.
The One who comforts, cannot be impersonal — “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;” [John 14:16; KJV]
Again consider this verse from the Old Testament 👇
This verse has all the different persons of the Trinity highlighted in different colours.Notice the last one which refers to the Holy Spirit. How can a mere force be “vexed” which would equate to “grieved”, in today's English?
